Durant's prolific shooting night helps Thunder hold off Warriors

Oklahoma City, OK (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Kevin Durant made 16-of-21 shots from the
field on his way to a season-high 45 points while pulling down 11 rebounds, as
the Oklahoma City Thunder held off the Golden State Warriors, 112-104, at the
Ford Center.
Durant has now scored at least 25 points in 21 straight games for the Thunder,
who improved to 2-1 on a four-game homestand, which concludes Tuesday against
the Hawks.
Russell Westbrook added 28 points, eight assists, and five rebounds for
Oklahoma City, which got 14 points and seven rebounds apiece from Jeff Green
and Thabo Sefolosha.
Corey Maggette ended with 26 points and five boards for the Warriors, who have
dropped five in a row and nine of 11 overall. Monta Ellis chipped in 25
points. Stephen Curry tallied 14 points and five assists while CJ Watson added
13 points off the bench for Golden State, which fell to 4-20 away from Oakland
this season.
The Thunder put together a 12-2 burst early in the third to build a seven-
point cushion. Westbrook capped the run with four free throws to make it 66-59
with nine minutes remaining.
Ahead 75-70 with 4 1/2 minutes to go, Oklahoma City ripped off 10 consecutive
points to create some breathing room. Serge Ibaka's layup made it an 85-70
game with 2 1/2 minutes left. The score was 87-75 after three quarters.
Green opened the fourth with a jumper, but the Warriors scored the next eight
points to cut the gap to 89-83 with less than 9 1/2 minutes to play. The
Thunder maintained that edge until Golden State made things interesting late.
An Ellis trey cut the deficit to 107-104 with 1 1/2 minutes remaining.
Westbrook made two free throws for the Thunder to make it a five-point contest
with 45.6 seconds to go.
Ibaka then blocked Maggette at the other end, and Westbrook made 1-of-2 from
the line this time around to make it a 110-104 game with 36.2 ticks showing on
the clock.
Durant made two free throws with 21.1 seconds left to account for the final
margin.
With the score tied at 18 past the midway point of the first quarter, the
Thunder ripped off eight straight points with Westbrook's free throw making it
26-18 with less than three minutes to go. Oklahoma City held a 29-26 margin
after 12 minutes.
A Coby Karl layup and Ronny Turiaf jumper had Golden State in front 38-36 with
7 1/2 minutes left until half. The Warriors held a 55-54 edge at the break.
Game Notes
The Thunder defeated the Warriors, 104-88, at home on December 7 this season.
Oklahoma City has won four of the last five matchups with Golden State...The

Brandon Roy Favorite to Win 2007 NBA Rookie of the Year
