San Antonio, TX (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - The San Antonio Spurs signed power
forward/center Tiago Splitter on Monday.
Terms of the contract were not disclosed.
The 25-year-old was taken with the 28th overall selection in the 2007 NBA
Draft by the Spurs, but the 6-foot-11 Splitter elected to play for Caja
Laboral Vitoria in the ACB League, a team he has been with since the 2003-04
season.
Splitter has established himself in Europe, where he led Caja Laboral to four
Spanish League regular season titles and a pair of Spanish League
championships.
He earned both the regular season MVP and the Spanish League Finals MVP honors
in 2009-10. In 38 ACB contests, Splitter posted averages of 15.4 points and
7.1 rebounds. Then in 16 Euroleague games, he averaged 13.0 points and 5.4
rebounds.
