Marlins designate Robertson, put Hayes on DL

Miami, FL (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - The Florida Marlins designated Nate Robertson for
assignment Wednesday, a day after the starter struggled against the Colorado Rockies.
He allowed eight runs (seven earned) in five innings and took the loss in
Tuesday's game, falling to 6-8 with a 5.47 earned-run average this season.
Robertson was scheduled to pitch again Sunday, against Atlanta, but it is not
clear who the Marlins will use to make the start.
Additionally on Wednesday, the Marlins placed catcher Brett Hayes on the 15-
day disabled list with a left wrist contusion. Hayes, who had been backing up
Ronny Paulino, has batted 7-for-32 in 13 games this year.
To fill the roster spots, Florida recalled catcher Brad Davis and right-handed
pitcher Jorge Sosa from Triple-A New Orleans.
