Devin Harris returned from a four-game absence due to a sprained right wrist and recorded 24 points and 14 assists for the Nets, losers in 14 of their last 15 overall. Brook Lopez chipped in 27 points and seven boards, while Courtney Lee scored 15 points for the league's bottom dwellers.

Harris hit five free throws during a personal 7-0 run early in the fourth to put the Nets on top 83-79 with seven minutes remaining.

The Nets continued to lead until a Hamilton bucket tied things at 91-all with 1:23 to play.

Prince's slam off an inbounds pass from under his own basket gave the Pistons the lead for good with 45.4 seconds left, as Lee and Harris each missed three- pointers in the final minute to fall short yet again.

The Nets were on top 29-24 after the first quarter and led throughout the second, taking a 48-43 lead into the locker room.

Detroit got going in the third, as Jason Maxiell's three-point play capped an 8-0 run for a 54-53 lead. Hamilton's three and a Prince layup late in the frame gave the Pistons a 71-67 edge going to the fourth.

Detroit's Ben Wallace became the 17th player -- and first listed as small as 6-foot-9 -- in NBA history to log 2,000 career blocks when he swatted a Harris attempt in the first quarter...Kris Humphries had nine points and a game-high 12 rebounds for the Nets.
