It was a really important two points for us." Ryan Getzlaf had a goal and an assist, while Teemu Selanne scored in his first game back since suffering a broken jaw versus Boston on January 13. Corey Perry had the other goal and Blake recorded two shots in just four 14 minutes of action in his Ducks debut. Toskala has yet to join the team due to immigration issues. Anaheim is 16-8-2 at home this year and is on its longest home winning streak since a franchise-record 10 consecutive wins from February 17-March 26, 2008. The Ducks' current run includes a victory over the Red Wings on January 5, their first versus Detroit this year after losing the first two meetings in Motown. That victory stopped Anaheim's five-game overall series losing streak and was the fifth in the last seven meetings at Honda Center. Detroit comes in with a 4-3-4 mark over its last 11 games, but last night's 4-2 win over Western Conference-leading San Jose moved it into a tie with Nashville for the final two playoff spots in the West with 64 points. Anaheim is five back of the two clubs. The Sharks netted the first two goals of last night's game, but Henrik Zetterberg and Dan Cleary both scored in the first period to tie the game before Derek Meech and Patrick Eaves netted third-period markers to lift the Red Wings. Jimmy Howard stopped 32 shots in the win and he has turned aside 124 of the last 129 shots he has faced over his last three starts (2-0-1). Tomas Holmstrom returned to the lineup after missing 13 games with a broken foot and had two assists, but Niklas Kronwall sat out the third period of last night's game with an ankle issue and could miss this contest. The Red Wings improved to 1-0-1 on a five-game road trip.
